Hamilton Scottish

Dance at the Hamilton Scottish club
Established in 1951 and still having fun!!


Our weekly club night is on Wednesdays at the YWCA Hall, Cnr Pembroke and Clarence Streets, Hamilton.
Beginners and children 7:00-8:15pm with experienced dancers continuing to 9:30pm.
New dancers of all ages (7 years to 70 years and beyond) are most welcome. No experience or partners required.

Hauraki Thames

Dance at the Hauraki/Thames club


We meet weekly at the Citizens Band Hall, Queen Street, Thames (opposite the end of Mary Street)

Thursday evenings 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start.

'Tartan Night' is held on the first Thursday every month beginning June and for the months ahead

Katikati

Dance at the Katikati club


We meet at St Peter’s Anglican Church, cnr Beach Rd & Carisbrooke St, Katikati, Monday afternoons, from 1.00pm to 3.00pm, for relaxed Scottish Country Dancing.
The door charge is $4.00.
No special clothes are required, but ladies are encouraged to wear a street style skirt. Special dancing pumps are not a requirement but light flat shoes are recommended. The dancing is low impact, and each dance is walked through beforehand.
Dancing is good for both the mind and the body, and you will enjoy the music. Our tutor, Lynne Hudson is very gentle and kind.
No need for a partner. Suitable for young and old alike. Just come along and have fun.

Lochiel (Hamilton)

We meet on Tuesday evenings at the St John's Methodist Church Hall, Wellington St, Hamilton East at 7.00 pm. Children and families welcome as well as adults.

Mount Maunganui

Dance in Mount Maunganui


We meet on Wednesday evenings at the Senior Citizens' Hall, 345 Maunganui Road, Mt Maunganui.
The evening begins at 7.00pm when we practice steps and formations, followed by general dancing from 7.30pm.

Opotiki

Dance at the Opotiki club


We meet on Thursday evenings, from 7 to 9 pm, at Waiotahi Hall on the main road to Opotiki.

We are a club that has been dancing since 2002 and are lucky to have two experienced teachers who share the teaching. We welcome all dancers to join us whether you are new to dancing or visiting the sunny Eastern Bay.

Rotorua

Dance at the Rotorua club


Everyone is welcome to our classes which cater for all levels from complete beginners to experienced dancers.

Classes are held on Monday evenings from 7.00 until 9.00 in the Lynmore Scout Hall, Lewis Road, Rotorua.

There is a weekly fee of $5, but newcomers are welcome to try it out for an evening at no charge. Just turn up (no need to come with a partner), but bring some light, flat shoes if you have them.

Taupo

Dance with the Taupo SCD Group


Thursday afternoons: 1.45pm to 3.45pm
St. Paul’s Union Church Hall corner Tamamutu St. & Rifle Range Rd, Taupo.

Our informal group was started in 1997 as a U3A group by a Scottish woman who found that only one or two of those attending knew anything about Scottish Country Dancing. We’ve come a long way since then, giving demonstrations and entertaining at various functions and Rest homes, and, as you can see, also enjoy dancing on the lawn on Robert Burns night.

Your first afternoon is free, and thereafter a weekly contribution of $3 towards Hall hire and music; comfortable clothes, light soft footwear and a smile is all that is required.

Tauranga

Dance at the Tauranga club


The Tauranga Club caters for all levels of dancers from absolute beginners, including children from the age of 10, through to very experienced dancers.

The Club meets for classes every Monday night, generally from first Monday in March, through to first Monday in December, 7.30 pm until 10.00 pm at the St John’s Anglican Church Hall, 94 Bureta Road, Otumoetai, Tauranga

Partners are welcome but not essential!
There is a weekly Door Fee of $4.00 but visitors and newcomers are welcome at no charge for the first time. The Club Subscription of $35.00 falls due after the AGM which is held mid to late September.

Te Awamutu

Dance at the Te Awamutu club


Te Awamutu Club meets weekly on a Thursday evening where we dance for approximately 2 hours then enjoy a cuppa together.
First Thursday of the month, April - November, we meet at the Methodist Church Hall, Bank St, Te Awamutu, 7.30-9.30pm.
All other Thursday nights we meet, March - end November, at St Bride's Anglican Hall, Haerehuka St, Otorohanga., 7-9pm.



We invite you to come and join us and have some fun. No experience or partner is required, a pair of soft, flat shoes is recommended. First few nights are free and thereafter $5 per night.

Tokoroa

Dance at the Tokoroa club


Come and meet the Tokoroa Club members during weekly Club Nights.
These are held each Thursday in the Amisfield School Hall, Moffat Road, Tokoroa.
Our junior group - for school age students - runs from 6 to 7pm with our adult group dancing from 7:30 until 9pm.
The club has some soft footwear (pumps) which can be hired each night.

Whakatane

Dance at the Whakatane club


We meet on Wednesday mornings, from 9.30 am to 11.30 am, at the RSA dance floor, Richardson Street, Whakatane.

We are a small group of ten dancers with a very experienced teacher. We welcome all dancers to join us whether you are new to dancing or visiting the sunny Eastern Bay.
